preaching to the choir

recently i received an email that included the word ‘devotion’.

the use of this word, in the context of this email, made me turn to my widgets for a definition.

devotion:
- love, loyalty, or enthusiasm for a person, place, or cause
- religious worship or observance

is there really much of a difference?

maybe we all need to subject ourselves to something we can forgive again and again.

and people may break your heart, but they don’t smite you with plague and floods and pro-football fans.

so congregation, if you will? open your hymnals to the book of eno, and let us begin singing the traditional songs of yearning and eternal absolution.
